Ladies Auxiliary History

The Ladies Auxiliary of the George Clay Fire Company was established in 1913 and remains an active part of the Fire Company and Community. The sole purpose of the Auxiliary is to support the Fire Company. On October 7, 1914 the Ladies held their first annual banquet at the fire house.

Since their beginning, the Ladies have successfully raised funds through their diligent efforts at pancake breakfasts, lunches at the fire academy, dinners, ice cream nights, and fun days for the children. The money that is raised is given to the fire company to serve and protect the community.

The Ladies do not always work for the fire company. They also have some fun too. They often compete in different parades including the Pennsylvania State Firefighters Convention where they have won several trophies over the years.

The Ladies are growing strong and currently have fifteen active members who dedicate their time to serve the community of West Conshohocken.
